The Beginning......
In 1974, Jim Mauro Sr. brought the first lineal vinyl extruder to the United States from Germany. He began to make vinyl extrusions at a company he created called Poly-Tex Co. Simultaneously, Jim created Vynex Window Systems, Inc. which was the first fabricator of the all tubular vinyl window, which is the vinyl window everyone is familiar with today.
In the early 1980’s, Poly-Tex was acquired by Chelsea Industries, Inc, now known as Chelsea Buildiing Products, Inc.
Vynex continues to purchase vinyl extrusions from Chelsea Building Products which enables us to manufacture, distribute, and install quality vinyl windows and doors to Western Pennsylvania and surrounding areas to this day.
Vynex has ALWAYS been a Pittsburgh-based manufacturer. Originally spreading our roots on East Ohio St. in Pittsburgh and moving to 40th St. in Lawrenceville where the business flourished until 2013.
Vynex Window Systems, Inc. is now located in North Versailles,Pa. where we continue to manufacture the same quality products that we always have since 1975.
